United Methodist YouthYouth Calendar of Events January - February - March - April - May - June - July - AugustJANUARY - Top of Page 10th - Concessions at VT (vs NC) - 7:30 PM 15th - Concessions at VT (vs UVA) - 4:00 PM 20th - 22nd - Youth to Resurrection 26th - Concessions at VT (vs Duke) - 7:00 PM 31st - Concessions at VT (vs Georgia Tech) - 7:00 PM FEBRUARY - Top of Page 4th - Soup to Go Mission: Chicken Noodle - 9:00 AM - Jordan's Chapel 4th - Concessions at VT (vs Boston College) - 7:00 PM 10th - BBQ Dinner and Basket Auction - Jordan's Chapel - 5:30 PM Dinner, 7:00 PM Auction - Will have baskets for several holidays - Valentine's, Saint Patrick's, Easter, Mother's Day, etc. The dinner is to raise money for KOK and the Building Fund and Auction is to benefit the groups that provide the baskets. The youth group will participate in the auction by each youth member providing one basket to auction, to raise funds for Resurrection 2007. 17th - Youth Praise Service - Dinner at 6:00 PM and Program at 7:00 PM - This will be held at Aldersgate again this year because their fellowship hall is handicap accessible. 18th - Concession at VT (vs NC State) - 1:00 PM 25th - Concession at VT (vs Florida State) - 7:00 PM MARCH - Top of Page 1st - Concession at VT (vs Clemson) - 7:00 PM 10th - Youth Dinner and a Movie night 16th - Youth - Winter Jam concert at Roanoke Civic Center - Christian Contemporary. If we have youth that want to attend, we will try to take them. Cost is $10.00 to get in and money for a meal. APRIL - Top of Page 1st - Youth/Pastor Bowling Night - 6:00 PM 8th - Community Easter Egg Hunt - Church Property - 2:00 PM 9th - Easter Play - KOK/Youth - 6:00 PM 14th - Good Friday Service - Aldersgate - Youth to lead - 7:00 PM 15th - Youth to meet at 5:00 PM to cook items for breakfast on the 16th. 16th - Easter Sunday Sunrise Service - Easter Sunday Sunrise Breakfast - 7:00 AM - Jordan's Chapel - Youth Fundraiser 23rd - Mother's Day slips to be handed out for purchase of small treat basket or flowers in honor or memory of mother's for a donation of $3 to $5. We are not doing a booklet this year for Mother's day. - Youth fundraiser. MAY - Top of Page 7th - All order slips are due for Mother's day treat baskets/flowers. Items will be handed out by the youth on Mother's Day - May 14th to those who order. 20th - Men's Barbecue 21st - Hand out Summer play scripts and CD to those kids and youth interested. 27th - Multi-Church Family Cookout and Kite Day - 5:00 PM - Church Property - Jordan's Chapel: Pastor John and John Goad to take care of inviting other churches to this event. Age-Level team will plan food and activities. 28th - Last Sunday for KOK. 28th - Hand out slips for Father's Day for orders of small treat or fishing basket in honor of and small potted plant in memory of fathers, for donation of $3-$5. We are not doing a booklet this year. - Youth Fundraiser JUNE - Top of Page 4th - KOK/Youth Players begins: 5:30 PM 11th - Father's Day slips are due. 11th - 14th - Annual Conference - Holly will be gone. 18th - Father's Day items will be handed out by the youth to those who order. 18th - 23rd - VBS 2006 JULY - Top of Page 1st - Community Family Day - 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM AUGUST - Top of Page 4th - 7th - KOK/Youth Players trip to Burgaw, NC - Leave on Friday and return on Monday. |
